French Translation Services

Generally speaking, any document used for an official purpose that is not in the language of the intended country will require an official translation. For example, if you are submitting a French supporting document in the UK, it will need to be translated into English by a certified translator or translation company. On the other hand, if you are submitting an English supporting document in France, it will need to be translated by a sworn translator who is appointed by the Cour d’appel (Court of Appeal) or the Cour de cassation (Court of Cassation).

Yes! When we send the translated documents, we will provide a Certificate of Translation Accuracy, which will:
• state that it's a 'true and accurate translation of the original document'
• state the full name and contact details of a representative of the translation company (not the translator)
• include the translation stamp and credentials of our translation company.

Yes. Our sworn translations are accepted by the French Interior Ministry, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Civil Registration Office, the French Office for Immigration and Integration, and other institutions, such as universities, banks, and courts. If you are submitting an English supporting document to any of these organisations, it will need to be translated by a sworn translator who is appointed by the Cour d’appel (Court of Appeal) or the Cour de cassation (Court of Cassation).

Documents under 500 words (1-2 pages) can be translated by the next working day, while documents ranging from 2,000 to 3,000 words (4-6 pages) are typically completed within 48-72 hours. If you have a large project and need it translated urgently, please let us know your deadline and we'll do our best to accommodate.

The certified translations of your documents will be sent to you electronically as a PDF file via email. If a physical copy is required, you have the option of printing the PDF document and it will be considered as an original copy. However, please ensure that you print the translated documents in colour. This will help distinguish them from photocopies and avoid any potential confusion. If you have requested sworn, notarised or apostilled translations, they will be sent to you by post.

We will endeavour to ensure that we provide you with a professional French translation. If the service that we provide does not meet your expectations, we will assess the queries and, if deemed necessary, have the translated material revised/proofread at no extra cost. This, however, does not cover a) Preferential changes; b) Very minor errors such as minimal typos and omissions that do not affect the sense of the translated text unless you have commissioned our proofreading services. Any issues regarding quality should be raised within 30 days.

Should you no longer require the translations, cancellation charges will be payable as a percentage of the completed work, unless more than 50% of the project has been completed, in which case we will charge the full fees.
