FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Generally speaking, any document used for an official purpose that is not in the language of the intended country will require an official translation. If you are submitting a Spanish document as a supporting document in the UK, it will need to be translated into English by a certified translator or translation company. On the other hand, if you are submitting an English document as a supporting document in Spain, it will need to be translated by a sworn translator who is registered with the Ministerio de Asuntos exteriores (Ministry of Foreign Affairs).
Yes! When we send the translated documents, we will provide a Certificate of Translation Accuracy, which will confirm: • that it's a 'true and accurate translation of the original document' • the full name, signature, and contact details of a representative of the translation company (not the translator) • translation stamp and credentials of our translation company. This fulfils the requirements of certified translations in the UK.
Yes. Our sworn translations are accepted by Spanish Embassies, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of the Interior, and other institutions, such as universities, banks, and courts. If you are submitting an English document as a supporting document to any of these organisations, it will need to be translated by a sworn translator who is registered with the Ministerio de Asuntos exteriores (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) in Spain.
Our pricing is transparent and is calculated based on word count or number of pages. Interpreting services are typically priced per day or half-day. For detailed pricing information, please send us an email or complete our quotation request form.
Documents under 500 words can be translated by the next working day, while documents ranging from 2,000 to 3,000 words are typically completed within 48-72 hours. However, if you have a large project and need it translated urgently, please let us know your requirements and we'll do our best to accommodate your deadline.
Certified translations will be sent to you electronically as a PDF file via email. If a physical copy is required, you have the option of printing the PDF document and it will be considered as an original copy. However, please ensure that you print the translated documents in colour. This will help distinguish them from photocopies and avoid any potential confusion. If you have requested sworn, notarised or apostilled translations, they will be sent to you by post.
Yes, there's a difference. It's a bit like the way English is spoken in the UK and the US. The main language is the same, with just a few noticeable differences, although some words can mean different things in different countries. But unlike English, the spelling of Spanish is the same everywhere it's spoken. Sometimes, the writing style can be different too. This is more evident when translating marketing content from English to Spanish. And it's not just Spain versus Latin America – the various countries in Latin America also have their own styles.
